A Private Health Insurance Company – Executive and C-Suite Communication Plan
The Challenge
A Private Health Insurance Company with sales of over $1.5 billion a year was experiencing steady growth and was close to outgrowing their current office space. Additional office space was required to meet their future needs. The real estate team wanted to investigate options to meet head-count growth. After a detailed analysis, which included financial implications, StratVisor recommended that the company pursue development of a new headquarters building. The Client’s real estate team had presented this option to the Board of Directors and Management and did not receive immediate approval to go forward with the project.
The Client asked Teel StratVisor Group to help them to facilitate work sessions to develop and communicate a presentation for senior management that would more clearly illustrate the business case and lead to approval to kick off this development project.
What We Did
The Teel StratVisor team first facilitated a session with the client to get an understanding of the Senior Management’s priorities and the obstacles that were preventing approval of this project. During this session, the team documented Senior Management top decision drivers. The goal of documenting these decision drivers was to understand what areas were important for Senior Management decision-making and how they would impact the real estate team’s business case. In addition to the real estate team, StratVisor facilitated sessions with Senior Management and a Board member to understand the decision-making process.
Using these decision drivers, the StratVisor team developed an approach to the verbal and written communication. The goal was to ensure that all the drivers were addressed in the business case and presentation to the board.
After developing the communication approach the StratVisor team coordinated with the client team and third parties to develop a formal presentation to Senior Management. After Senior Management viewed the presentation and gave the real estate team their support, StratVisor help the client “re-package” the message for the Board of Directors and the Finance Sub-Committee of the Board.
The Result
