A Privately-held Real Estate Investment and Management Firm - Information Technology/Operations Direction
The Challenge
Executives of a privately-held real estate investment and management firm with over 5 million sq ft of real estate were planning to enhance the operations and infrastructure of the business so it would be ready to support an Initial Public Offering within 24 months. The leadership was uncertain how to prioritize initiatives to achieve this goal.
After review of StratVisor’s Owner Diagnostic, the Client asked Teel StratVisor Group (StratVisor) to conduct a 2-day working session to develop a Technology/Operations direction.
What We Did
The client initially completed StratVisor’s on-line Strategic Diagnostic Survey for Owners. The purpose of the diagnostic is to help identify key areas within a company that are currently not as efficient as they could be when compared to industry Best Practices. The results of this diagnostic were reviewed in person with the executive staff and at that time it was determined that a 2-day working session to understand the Client’s current state would be the best approach.
The StratVisor team conducted this 2-day on-site working session with the purpose of interviewing key staff, evaluating the current systems / reporting, and analyzing processes. Within the 2 days, the StratVisor team was able to conduct 8 interviews, meet with the CEO, review key reports, facilitate meetings on sensitive topics and review the current Information Technology Systems. From the information gathered while on site, the StratVisor team developed a comprehensive list of prioritized initiatives that included timelines and resource requirements for success.
The Result
As a result of working with the StratVisor team, the client received the following:
- Consolidated owner diagnostic results that benchmarked the company against other owners and best practice recommendations on top three improvement areas
- Objective third-party assessment of the following
- Operations
- Systems
- Current Processes
- Current Reporting
- Prioritized initiatives with timeline, resource requirement and cost to understand degree of effort
Timing: 4 weeks (2 days on-site)
