Specialized Health Care Provider – Business Process Improvement
The Challenge
A national provider of specialized health care services with over 650 locations had miscommunication with one of their service providers regarding their respective roles and responsibilities. This miscommunication was leading to work inefficiencies and both groups wanted to resolve this obstacle rapidly and with the help of a facilitator.
The client asked Teel StratVisor Group (StratVisor) to review their real estate transaction roles (leasing, development, renewal etc.) and help them reduce inefficiencies within the roles and develop practices that would foster a positive long-term relationship.
What We Did
The StratVisor team documented the current state by conducting 15 one-on-one interviews, and facilitating an all-day workshop with 12 participants. The goal of the workshop was to review the current system and processes. The team identified over 55 improvement areas within the company and grouped them into five core groups:
- Standard processes with metrics to enhance monitoring
- Standard forms
- Web-enabled workflow tool
- Job descriptions and clearly defined roles
- Organizational structure changes
The Result
As a result of working with the Teel StratVisor team, the client received the following:
- Recommendations on how to save $300,000 annually (six-fold return on the investment in year 1)
- Documentation of the current states
- Summary of themes from interviews and workshop
- Documentation of over 55 improvement areas (categorized into 5 areas)
- Prioritization of documented issues with identification of top 3-5 highest impact areas
